Let’s do a little pinky swear, shaaaaaall we?! (And if you know anything about anything, pinky swears are LEGIT—anyone under the age of 11 will pause a shade too long when presented with an outstretched, slightly curved, ready-to-be-embraced pinky because they know, it’s more binding than blood—just so you know what you’re getting into 🤣)
So let’s pinky swear to no longer buy $1,000 worth of athletic wear, a $5,000 treadmill to match the athletic wear, or make any grandiose proclamations having to do with never touching a carb again or drinking only detox teas and dehydrated fruit for eternity BEFORE firmly plating yourself in the correct headspace for change. Because yes, there is a proper headspace, and if you’re not in it, no amount of cleverly conscribed jumpstart, cleanse, or detox will get you over the hump. (And ALL “goal pants” from the college years shall be tossed into the rubbish.)
K?
Here’s why we’re pinky-swearing to ditch all the ways we’ve tried to do new things that never end up sticking like spaghetti to the wall. Because, when we approach changes while sharing on Facebook how much we know it’s going to level us, we end up not being a match for the desired result. BAM!
When our thoughts—the ones that bemoan, criticize, judge, and make us weary—are against the work involved, when there’s no fire or spark, we are trying to forge ahead into the darkness with an unlit gas lantern. We’re not aligned with that change. It’s all rub no flame, like a mouse on a wheel, all day long.
I’ve worked with awesome women to know that when you dread my knock on the front door or lament over my most prescribed advice of veggies at every meal, this one thing is true—if you dread it, you will not do it, no matter how well you convince yourself you need to do it because no good change will EVER come from a defeated state of mind.
But here’s where the clouds part—I’m not all Wicked Witch of the West. You can be a match for your desired result. All you have to do is approach the endeavor with some minute form of intrigue, excitement, or even joy—dare I sayeth.
It’s the release of thoughts and emotions tied to the past that make all the difference. In that release, space opens for new thoughts, and new thoughts bring new energy, and that’s what makes new outcomes possible. It’s all in the release, which can be the hardest part because you can’t only say it, you also need to feel it! Feel the excitement, feel the possibilities, feel the past vaporize. THEN… then you’re open to allowing something new to happen.
Release the old—no matter how convincing its reality may be—and then proclaim to the world your expectations, and I promise you, if you can get excited about what can happen, then you start becoming a match for it. It’s the ONLY way you're going to experience something new and wonderful, and lasting!
Yup, the rumors are true! I lost over an inch around my mid-section and I’m sharing on the latest Pod how I did it. It’s been four months—and counting—and I share the biggest differentiating factor that I believe made it all possible. (Hint: it didn’t have as much to with food as I thought it would!)
Listen in and let me know your thoughts!
This is amazing ❤️
I'm intrigued!! How did you do it? I will listen!
