When your Old Self stands in disbelief and mutters, “I thought I was your Ride or Die”, as you slowly morph into New Shiny Self
The absurd amount of times I say "change your story" this week goes to show how deeply I needed to talk about this!
Have you ever listened to yourself talk? I don’t mean when playing back a recording of yourself—that‘ll only cause you to say WHO the f*ck is THAT!?!? Is that how I really sound?! But I’m so nasally!
I’m talking about the internal dialogue you listen to on repeat, minute after minute, hour after hour, every day of your life. (Ohhh that one!)
Most likely, it’s a golden oldie. You’ve been carrying it around for so long that you’ve stopped questioning its validity, or haven’t bothered to update it (and it secretly loves you for that!)
Well not any more my friend because I’ve got a fun little fact for you: Your stories matter. And why is that fun? Because it means that what you tell and believe to be true about yourself shows up in your life in one form or another... and THAT means... you have more control over your life situation than you ever knew! (Yay!! Fun-fetti time! 🎉!)
Your narrative can be your greatest ally or toughest opponent in the journey towards a healthier lifestyle. The stories you've internalized about food, body image, and self-worth shape every decision you make, often without realizing it.
And when it comes to changing things—like that number on the scale or how you feel about yourself—your level of success is encoded in the story you tell yourself about yourself. (And you can change that! Welcome to the party NEW YOU!!! 🎉 )
So, let go of the old story weighing you down and start writing a new one—one where you are the hero, taking charge of your health and happiness. With each chapter you rewrite, you get closer to becoming the vibrant, confident version of yourself you've always dreamed of.
This is what I’m chatting about on Podcast this week. Giverr a listen and let me know, can you pull out the red pen and begin editing your old story?
What’s your story and can you change it to welcome in a newer, shinier version of YOU?
