What Are You Available For?
Questioning my conditioned habits while my purpose slowly nose dives into oblivion
Welcome to my new 10-minute (or so!) radio show here on Substack, where I monologue on fitness, well-being, and the endless pursuit of finding the perfect pair of jeans!
All you have to do is tie up your laces, pop in your earbuds, and take me with you on your daily walk! I like to think of this as easily consumable tips for the women who are aging fiercely!
If you want a little scoop on what I’m sharing in the audio today…
"I didn't know if I should be proud of myself or if I should be like, what a waste of time I spent doing stuff that I've conditioned myself to do."
This self-actualization is brought to you by a morning fueled by conditioned habits instead of a cup of coffee brewed from my nana’s Moka pot—the kind of coffee that will set you into orbit, that’s how strong it is.
We all have our levels of normal and we also have this sneaky habit of being "available" for all sorts of bullshit—usually without realizing we've signed up for it. (Auto-pilot comes standard on all models of humans.)
Today, I question what I’m available for after waking up and succumbing to an unusually large amount of chores, forgoing my original plan to sit down and enjoy my coffee while basking in the morning sunlight because… who else is going to do all these things?! (While wearing the badge of bitterness?)
I offer up this riff as a chance for you to slow down and notice where it is you’re showing up in your life and ask, Is this where I want to be heading? Down this same trotted and well-worn path? Or do I want to be available for something more aligned with me and the life I want to be living?
Because here's what I've noticed—we're all walking around placing our energy in places that don't serve us, then shrugging it off with some variation of "well, someone's gotta do it" while our passions wither away. Or worse, make their way to someone else who will actually make good on them.
If you've ever caught yourself thinking:
"How did I get here?”
Then buckle up, you sassy buttercup—this one's for you.
I've learned that when shit isn't working out the way I want, there's exactly one place to look for answers: straight into my own eyeballs. (Terrifying but effective.)
Fair warning: This riff might completely rewire how you think about where your energy goes each day. And that kind of internal revolution? That's the good stuff. That's the change that actually changes everything.
So tell me:
Are you digging the audio format?
Do you have your own ridiculous daily routine that's slowly sucking your soul dry? 🙃
If you’re new here, welcome to my heart-focused, woo-casual, shamelessly optimistic, fitness accountability bandwagon where we slow down and allow space in your day for the ‘real YOU’ to feel witnessed + worthy… not to mention vibrantly healthy!
This isn’t a “newsletter” filled with stale fitness and wellness advice, or trending fads that promise beach-ready bods in just two weeks…
… this is a love letter to the real YOU who, in your 40+ years of living, knows that to age fiercely means you can…
Lift heavy things (like your expectations, your standards, and occasionally actual weights) and feel how it gets more satisfying with age.
Deflate your old, farty narratives—they’re starting to smell like blue cheese
Know that taking care of yourself is no longer “optional”
Deprive yourself of negativity, not pizza
Workout for the endorphins, not the scale
My purpose is to help you get to that point where you surprise yourself and say out loud with a voice of victory, I can’t believe I just did that!!!!! I can tell you from experience, it’s even better than binge-watching bad TV on a Sunday morning.
Ready to Do Something Different?
Didn’t realize you could create more space in your day for YOU? If you’re no longer available for the limiting thought that you’ve tried everything and nothing has worked when it comes to your never-ending desire to feel fit and strong in your body and mind, you’re ready for a shift. I can help show you how it’s all possible!
