I have wasted decades in hypervigilance, in functional shutdown, in trauma-driven patterned behaviors that at 47 years old, I will do whatever it takes to take care of my energy.

I will do whatever it takes to take care of my energy! Bango!! Protect your energy!
This week on the Aging Fiercely Podcast, I had the pleasure of speaking with Doug Marshall, life coach, motivational speaker, and founder of The Wonderful World of Doug. I loved our conversation about managing energy, regulating your nervous system, and breaking free from limiting beliefs—all essential skills for aging with vitality and joy… and fierceness!
Doug shares his journey from perfectionism and addiction to becoming a beacon of positive energy. After getting sober 22 years ago, he discovered the transformative power of self-help through authors like Louise Hay and Esther Hicks, eventually turning his own healing journey into a mission to help others.
The heart of our conversation revolved around practical tools that can gradually shift our energy and experience of life. One tool in particular that I’ve been using almost daily is his mantra, “It’s good to feel good”. When you’re stuck in a pit of despair, repeat that mantra and add one thing you’re grateful for. Keep repeating the mantra + gratitude until you feel an energetic shift. It’s like a magic trick that changes your emotions, you’re gonna love it!
You can learn more about Doug on Instagram @theworldofdoug, and on his website The World Of Doug, where he'll soon be launching an online course on energy awareness and nervous system regulation.
What people respond to isn't our physical appearance but our "energetic reflection"—the energy we project from the inside out. By working on our internal landscape, we naturally enhance our external beauty.
I hope this episode inspires you!
